The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
